Unfretted: Indian Strings in Conversation w/ Deep Seize

  • Brewbakers 48 Emerald St Keene, NH, 03431 United States (map)

Unfretted is a colorful story of South Indian strings, featuring two fretless string instruments of the Carnatic tradition: the chitravina (rare Indian fretless lute) and the violin. The artists, Sruti Sarathy (violin), Vishaal Sapuram (chitravina), and Rohan Krishnamurthy (mrdangam--two-headed drum), offer a unique blend of exuberant improvisatory exchanges, original songs, and traditional Indian melodies. The musicians are acclaimed in both traditional and global music circles for their powerful and nuanced music.

Deep Seize is an Electronic/World Fusion duo formed in 2014 by producer Wyatt Andrews and handpan composer Jed Blume. The group has pioneered a new sound, which combines the ethereal melodic lines of live handpan with the grooving bass and heavy rhythms of Hip Hop and EDM. Deep Seize is based in southern Vermont and has performed at spaces throughout New England including venues, bars, ecstatic dance/contact improv jams, and festivals.

Doors are at 7pm and music will begin around 730 or so. Seating is limited and first come first served.
