Murphy’s Groove was born during the latter part of pandemic quarantine. Band leader Jim Murphy was writing songs and working them up in his studio, sending out grooves to keyboardist Paul Nadeau and bassist Doug Morton, and throughout this process, a band was formed. Murphy’s Groove will be doing some of these songs along with songs from Jim's last two albums Jump and Shout and Attic Heat. Their new album release is planned for April 2022.
Jim was bandleader for Murphy’s Blues for sixteen years, and Doug the bassist for the Nines for around the same time span. For the past four years Paul has been keyboardist for Grammy Winner and former Muddy Waters guitarist Luther Guitar Junior Johnson. Doug’s brother Tim Morton will be on drums. They all have over many years been in too many bands to name.
