Do you distaste the flavor of wax lips? Throat sore from cackling like a phantom? Well... don't lose your head! Haunting can be daunting... and to be Frank; a pain in the neck! This season leave all the ghoulishness to that maniacal minstrel... Doctor Gasp! Beneath the mask of this phantom is a New England folk musician Dan Blakeslee with his unique bag of all original songs of Halloween oozing with vampires and ghastly creeps. Blakeslee's songs are a throwback to old-time cult horror themes, giving nods to Bobby Pickett (Monster Mash), Alfred Hitchcock, John Zacherle and the cavernous voice of Paul Frees. Each October the unexpected spectacle Doctor Gasp rises from the shadows delivering an earful of eerie for the young, old and immortal!
SLOW PONY is an accordion-centric polk-funk musical collective, playing soulful yet creepy original material inspired by their studies of intense folk music: drawing upon traditions of balkan, blues, tango, cumbia, jazz manouche, and more, Slow Pony is on a mission to make you dance, laugh, and cry with a heaping side of chaos.
Slow Pony are currently stationed near Brattleboro and led by Eli Dworkin, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has wandered the globe in search of that delicious sound and had the fortune of converging with many great musicians along the way. Over the years Eli has served as accompanist for Hot Damn Scandal, Profane Sass, Maray Fuego, Mama's Broke, Sexy Flail Family Band, the Railyard Ghosts, The Homeless People, and many others, while also pursuing and performing his own coercive compositions.
Doors are at 7pm, music starts no later than 8! It wasn't explicitly stated, but we're guessing the bands will encourage costumes! Show is all ages and seating is first come first served!
