Charlie Chronopoulos w/ Helen Hummel

  • Brewbakers 48 Emerald St Keene, NH, 03431 United States (map)

TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS ONLY UNTIL MONDAY 2/28

Born in Lowell, MA, Singer/songwriter Charlie Chronopoulos got his start performing as a guitarist in regional lounges and ballrooms, sharing the stage as a teen with classic acts such as Grand funk railroad, Cheap Trick, and the Doobie Brothers.

He went on to produce his own indie records and work as a session guitarist for several multi-platinum and Grammy winning artists including Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and Shirley Manson (Garbage). His career took an unconventional turn when he was invited to work under Tony winner Diane Paulus and perform in several off-broadway productions for the ART at Harvard University. Chronopoulos credits this time with re-invigorating his love of storytelling and performance art, and so he rented mill space in Wilton, NH to start writing and producing his own work with renewed vigor. His latest effort, Dead End, is a stripped down compilation of songs that play out like short stories, centering around the lives of family and friends he witnessed struggling with addiction during his time performing in lounges in greater Lowell, MA. While the subject matter is often heavy, Chronopoulos writes with empathy, and a type of war humor that serves to counter the narrative of backwardness and poverty.

Singer/songwriter Helen Hummel hails from the green mountains of Vermont. Her music reflects the rural landscape of her upbringing and explores the styles of Folk, Americana, and Indie, among many others. Through classic and original songs, she fills out the limits of her vocal range, accompanying herself on bright and playful guitar. Helen released a full length album in 2017, Many Waters, and has played at the historic Bitter End in New York City and the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles. She currently lives in Western Mass and regularly tours through her home state of Vermont and greater New England. Helen has opened for such artists as Anaïs Mitchell, Poco, Red Wanting Blue, The Salty Suites, and Chelsea Williams.
